It is often observed that a person finds themselves trapped in problems they never imagined, wondering what they did to deserve such suffering. In difficult times, people are compelled to think not only from a practical perspective but also from an emotional and spiritual one. They are left with many unanswered questions. When answers seem elusive, many turn to astrology or religion for guidance, often finding relief from both practical and emotional challenges.

Indian culture is fundamentally based on the principle of karma, and Indian astrology is an integral part of it. According to Indian astrology, a person bears the consequences of their actions not only in this life but also in their future and past lives. Thus, one’s present sufferings may also be attributed to deeds from a previous birth.

In Indian astrology, certain planetary combinations (yogas) are believed to cause sudden and unexpected events in life. Rahu and Ketu are two such planets closely associated with unexpected changes. One such planetary combination is the Kaal Sarp Yog, which occurs due to the specific placement of Rahu and Ketu in a person’s horoscope.

If Kaal Sarp Dosh appears in a person’s horoscope, it suggests that the negative effects may largely be the result of past or present life karma. Rahu and Ketu are always positioned 180 degrees apart and move in a retrograde motion.

What is Kaal Sarp Dosh?

Kaal Sarp Dosh forms when all the planets in a person’s horoscope are positioned between Rahu and Ketu, leaving the other half of the chart empty. This alignment creates a blocked flow of planetary energies, potentially causing both auspicious and inauspicious yogas simultaneously. As a result, the positive effects of the planets are hindered, leading to struggles in the native’s life. Since Rahu’s presiding deity is Kaal (time) and Ketu’s is the serpent, this planetary fault is named Kaal Sarp Dosh.

A person affected by this dosh may be intelligent, hardworking, and skilled in research or secretive activities. However, they must remain spiritually aware to prevent their virtues from turning into vices. Otherwise, their negative tendencies can harm both themselves and society.
